Elon Musk GOT EVERYONE with his art of trolling

He knew what he was doing and we have all taken the bait hook, line and sinker

This week, the media and social media went into a meltdown over Elon Musk’s alleged ‘Nazi’ salute. On my LinkedIn feed, I lost count of how many times I saw pictures and angry posts about it. It looked like EVERYONE was (and still is) talking about this topic, including myself (on LinkedIn). You can see that so much oxygen has been sucked out of media and social media over this row.

To put it simply, Elon Musk broke the Internet with this infamous act.

But why?

Message is in the eyes of the beholder

Someone made this comment on my LinkedIn post:

The message is in the beholder, if you have Fascist thinking then you see Fascism is most messages you see. a happy mind sees happy things, a bad mind sees bad things.

You see, Elon knew exactly what he was doing. He deliberately made his actions ambiguous so that it could have multiple interpretations, depending on where you stand politically. Looking at the video, many people are adamant that he made a Nazi salute. Many people also do not see it as a Nazi salute, including myself and the Anti-Defamation League. Some others saw a Roman salute. And a few saw a gesture of flying and shooting for the stars.

It does not matter which one is the ‘correct’ interpretation of the gesture. The point is, he deliberately performed it such that there can be multiple interpretations of it. If you hate Elon Musk, there is a high chance that you will see multiple Nazi salutes. If you love him or do not hate him, you will see something else.

Do you know what is the irony? Both the far left and the far right agree on one thing: they are sure Elon Musk’s gesture was a Nazi salute.

Outcome

Now, so much oxygen has been sucked out of media and social media talking about his gesture.

Can you imagine how much time has been wasted by millions of people all over the world arguing whether he made a Nazi salute?

Can you imagine how many millions of people have their blood boil over this gesture that is plastered on the screens of millions upon millions of devices?

For what purpose?

Why is he doing this?

Elon Musk is a master troller. He is doing it FOR FUN!

He and his allies are laughing at millions of people (especially those on the political left) for wasting their time arguing over something so trivial that is blown out of epic proportion.

For example, look at this re-tweet where he and his allies are laughing at a video of AOC doing multiple ‘Nazi’ salutes. If you are aligned with Elon Musk’s views, you will find this hilarious. If you are his political opponent, your blood will boil. There are so many laughing tweets he shared and made over this issue.

That is the whole point. He is egging those on the political left to have a meltdown and laughing at their expense.

And you know what is the joke? He is laughing at those on the political left in his playground on X. Those people are oblivious to the comedy and do not realise that they have become the butt of Elon’s jokes because they have all left X for Blue Sky and are no longer privy to what is happening on X.

Are the Jews offended?

For the crime of making a 'Nazi’ salute, the Jewish community and Israeli people should be offended.

Paradoxically, they are the least offended.

For example, Gad Saad, a prominent Canadian Jewish author and academic, was laughing at the political left with Elon Musk on X. Gad and Jewish rabbis were quoted in this news article criticising the political left. I have seen Israeli and Jewish people defending Elon Musk on social media because they see him as a true friend of Israel through his actions.

Nevertheless, I have seen enraged people on the political left still not convinced by his actions. Ironically, it is often those on the far left who are the most antisemitic.

I know, this does not make sense.

It seems like we are living in a topsy-turvy world where supposedly modern ‘Nazi’ (or fascist) parties are supportive of Israel and the Jews, while the supposedly ‘anti-racist political left is attacking them instead.

What should we do?

As someone on LinkedIn wrote,

Right now, his stance is to “own the libs,” and he thought this would be funny and would also “break the internet.” Mission accomplished.

I think we should all take a chill pill and move on. Above all, do not take the bait. If you have already taken the bait, spit it out.

Getting angry is not good for your health.
